Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked with a warning over “STURM, RUGER & CO., INC. SOUTHPORT. CONN. U.S.A.”. The left side of the frame is marked “RUGER® .44 MAGNUM CAL. / NEW MODEL SUPER BLACKHAWK®”. The right side of the frame under the cylinder is marked with the serial number, “86-98441”. The back of the cylinder is marked “S”.

Barrel Length: 5 1/2″

Sights/Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade pinned to a base fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a square-notch leaf in a base pinned to a channel in the topstrap and is adjustable for elevation and windage.

Stock Configuration and Condition: The custom Bisley grip frame has attached two smooth polymer panels. Both panels have light handling marks, but otherwise they are free of any notable wear or damage. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in Fine condition, as not original to the gun.

Type of Finish: Stainless steel.

Finish Originality: Original to the parts, the grip frame is not original to the gun.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 96% of its metal finish. There is minor surface oxidation on both sides of the front sight base where it meets the barrel. The custom cylinder pin has worn a light drag line into the underside of the barrel. The frame has scattered light nicks and a few scuffs, all of which are most notable near the topstrap. There is a moderate nick at the top of the grip frame. The cylinder has a faint turn line. The underside of the barrel near the set screw port has a small cluster of light nicks. The screws have light toolmarks with strong slots, pins are unmarred, and all markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in Fine condition, as customized.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The original grip frame, trigger assembly, and hammer have been replaced. The cylinder pin has been replaced as well, and features a set screw. The cylinder locks with almost no play. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
