Markings: The right side of the barrel is marked “RUGER SP101®” and “.327 FED. MAG.”. The left side of the barrel has a warning over “RUGER / NEWPORT, NH USA”. The right side of the frame under the cylinder is marked with the serial number “573-79946”, a laser radiation warning sticker, “®” and a Ruger logo. The rear face of the cylinder is marked “S”.

Barrel Length: 3.06″

Sights/Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade pinned to the barrel. The rear sight is a square-notch with white outline screw set into a notch in the topstrap. The Crimson Trace grip has an integrated red laser sight on the right side that is adjustable for elevation and windage. The laser is bright.

Stock Configuration and Condition: The grip is a two-piece checkered black rubber Crimson Trace laser sight with finger grooves. The rubber has light handling wear with a few minor scuffs on the backstrap. The checkering is well-defined. There are no rips or tears. Overall, the grips are in Very Good-plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 92% of its metal finish. The stainless surfaces have scattered light nicks and scuffs. The cylinder has the lion’s share of wear with light scuffs throughout and a turn line through the finish The screws show light toolmarks with sharp slots, and all markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in Very Good-to-Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder locks with minor play on each chamber when the trigger is depressed. The double action is smooth and the single action is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
