Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked with a Ruger warning over “—STURM, RUGER & CO., INC. SOUTHPORT, CONN, U.S.A.—” and a Ruger proof mark. The right side of the barrel is marked “.44 MAGNUM CAL.” The right side of the frame is marked “RUGER® Redhawk®,“®”, and a Ruger phoenix logo. The underside of the grip frame is marked with the serial number “501-91080”. The back of the cylinder is marked “S”.

Barrel Length: 7 1/2″ with serrated barrel rib

Sights/Optics: The front sight is a blade with orange insert dovetailed into the barrel rib. The rear sight is a black square-notch leaf in a base pinned to the topstrap and is adjustable for elevation and windage.

Stock Configuration and Condition: The grips are two-piece smooth wood panels with inset Ruger phoenix logo medallions. There is light use-wear, but otherwise the grips are free of any notable wear or damage. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion, but there is some stubborn leading near the forcing cone.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 92% of its current metal finish. The barrel shows light holster wear on the left side, the frame shows scattered light nicks most notable near the rear sight, and the back of the grip frame shows a small cluster of nicks near the top. The cylinder shows a turn line through the finish as well as intermittent minor nicks. Pins are unmarred, and all markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder locks up with almost no play with the trigger depressed. The single action is crisp, and the double action is smooth. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
