Markings: The right side of the frame is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.” and with the serial number. The left of the trigger guard is marked “VP” in triangle and “Y”, the right side is marked “V”. The firing pin retainer is marked “1”. The top of the chamber is marked “-COLT 45 AUTO-“. The left of the slide is marked “WEST POINT CLASS OF 2012” in a gold banner surrounded by scroll engraving and a gold border. The left side of the slide is also marked with a gold spartans helmet with scroll engraving and a gold border at the rear. The right of the slide is marked “UNITED STATES MILITARY ACADEMY” in a gold banner surrounded by scroll engraving and a gold border. The right side of the slide is also marked with a gold rampant colt surrounded by scroll engraving and a gold border at the rear. The top of the slide is marked with a banner that reads “FOR MORE THAN / OURSELVES” with “USMA / 2012” in the center above an eagle holding arrows and a banner that reads “DUTY / HONOR / COUNTRY / WEST POINT MDCCCI / USMA” above a shield with a spartan helmet and there are two crossed gold swords at the rear. All of the markings on the top of the slide are surrounded by scroll engraving and a gold border. The left grip panel is marked with eagle holding arrows and a banner that reads “DUTY / HONOR / COUNTRY / WEST POINT MDCCCI / USMA” above a shield with a spartan helmet. The right grip is marked with a banner that reads “FOR MORE THAN / OURSELVES”, “2012”, “USA”, an eagle head, and an American flag.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade fixed to the slide with a white dot and the rear sight is a square notch with two white dots dovetailed into the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece smooth off white plastic. There are no major defects, just light handling wear. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is no notable wear or damage and hardly anything in the way of handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms a thorough cleaning may be required to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a blue plastic Colt case with serial matching label, a single 7-round magazine, and an assortment of factory paperwork including manual. The magazine is in about Excellent condition with only light handling wear. The case is in about Excellent condition with a few marks from storage mainly to the bottom.
Our Assessment: This pistol is a beautiful Colt Government Model 1911A1 pistol made in 2012, commemorating the West Point graduating class of 2012. It features scroll engraving on a deep blued finish with gold markings and gold slide stop, hammer and frame safety. In Excellent condition showing hardly any signs of use and with its original case, this pistol would make a wonderful addition to a Colt collection, especially if you happened to graduate West Point in 2012.
