Markings: The lock plate is marked “T. WYRILL & Co.”. There is engraving on the trigger guard.

Barrel Length: 23” Half Round, Half Octagonal

Sights / Optics: The front sight is missing. There is no rear sight.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock one piece checkered wood with a straight grip, straight comb with a cheek piece, and a steel buttplate. The forend is secured to the barrel by brass wire. There are brass bead inlays on the sides of the forend, the top of the wrist, lining the grip checkering, and on either side of the buttstock. There is a large crack through the bottom of the forend from the front of the trigger guard metal through the nose. There are also two cracks on the right side. There is material loss behind the nipple. The rod hole has been permanently filled. There are scattered nicks, compressions, scratches, and draglines. The LOP measures approximately 13 1/2” from the front of the trigger to the back of the steel buttplate, which shows a thick patina with scatter nicks and dings throughout. The stock rates in about Fair overall condition as Antique.

Bore Condition: The bore is dark and eroded.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 0% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows a thick patina throughout the metal. The length of the bottom of the metal shows heavy erosion where the lower rib once was. There is heavy pitting around the nipple. The screw heads are disfigured, some do not appear to be serviceable. The markings are faded but legible. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fair condition.

Mechanics: The half cock safety does not function correctly, the hammer will fall if the trigger is pulled firmly. Otherwise, the action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included with this rifle is a vintage Indian hunting bag with a skinning knife, a horn black powder container, and a hunting knife and belt. The suede black hunting bag has decorative floral bead stitching on the flap and front. The bag shows scattered discoloration on the and has a small hole on the back side. The leather bag strap shows creases and cracking through the finish with a couple minor rips at the edges. The bag rates in about Good overall condition. The horn powder container has splits near the pointed end with scattered nicks and scratches throughout. The horn container rates in about Good condition. The hunting belt has decorative stitched beading along the outside with a multi-colored “X” pattern. Some of the bead stitching is coming undone at the edges. The belt itself shows creases and scratches with no rips or tears. Overall, the belt rates in about Good-Very Good condition. The knife has a horn handle and a 10” blade. The blade has scattered light pitting, patches of oxidation, and scratches and remains relatively sharp. There is a crack in the right side of the handle. The knife rates in about Good to Very Good overall condition.
