Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. / MADE IN BELGIUM”. The barrel is marked “CAL. 9m/mP.”. The front strap is marked “76C08934”. The right side of the trigger guard bow has a proof and inspector’s mark and the left side is marked “V”.

Barrel Length: 4 5/8”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a rounded blade dovetailed to the front of the slide. The rear sight is a square notch dovetailed to the rear of the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered walnut. The grips show a couple hardly notable marks on the smooth borders. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Fine-Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 98% of its metal finish. The action has minor operational wear. There is some dried grease at the end of the barrel. There are some barely perceptible marks scattered about. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in about Fine-Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The magazine disconnect functions properly. The trigger is a touch heavy. There is a small amount of play between the slide and frame. The slide is a bit stiff and will require proper lubrication. We have not fired this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a black Browning zipper case, a manual, and a single 13-round magazine. The exterior shows some minor marks to the finish, the zipper is strong. There is a compression on the right flap but it does not puncture through the material. The case rates in about Very Good-Fine condition. The magazine has thinning from operational wear, intact feed lips and a strong spring, in about Fine condition. Please note, no magazine will be included for purchasers who reside where it cannot be legally transferred.

Our Assessment: The Browning Hi-Power pistol was designed between 1914-1935. Design was started by John Browning himself until his passing. Dieudonne Saive would finish the design by 1935. The Hi Power has been used by over 50 countries’ militaries throughout the years. Here is a very nice Series C Hi-Power manufactured in 1976. This pistol is in about Fine-Excellent condition, retaining about 98% of its metal finish. It will need a bit of lubrication but once done, it will operate as cleanly as it looks.
