Markings: The top of the frame behind the hammer is marked with the serial number “281261”. The sides of the frame are both marked with scroll engraving and a circle with a cougar on a boulder. The left shoulder of the barrel is marked “THOMPSON CENTER ARMS / ROCHESTER, N H.” and “35 REM / ‘SUPER 14’”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade that is pinned to a serrated faced riser which is screwed to the barrel. The rear sight has been removed and in its place is a T/C 4RP scope with 4x magnification, a duplex reticle, and long eye relief. The scope shows a light mark here and there and has clear lenses. Overall, the scope rates in about Fine condition.
The sights on the additional barrel are a screw adjustable ramped blade that is slotted and pinned to the front of the rib and a flip-up square notch leaf at the rear of the rib.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are smooth dark wood. The capped pistol grip has a right thumb rest and finger grooves. The grips have minimal light handling wear and a hardly notable dragline on the left side of the forend. There is a minor mark on the back right of the pistol grip. There are no chips or cracks. They rate in about Fine-Plus condition.

Bore Condition: Both bores are bright with sharp rifling and no erosion.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. This gun shows only a few very minor scattered nicks on the bottom of the trigger guard. The sides of the hammer have taken a plum hue. The screw heads have strong slots, the pins are unmarred. The markings are strong. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger has an adjustable CF-RF switch at the top which also acts as a safety when switched to the middle position. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This gun comes in a grey T/C hard case with the previously mentioned additional barrel, an additional shortened forearm, and a choke key. The case shows scattered light marks from storage and is in about Fine condition. The barrel has some scattered light marks and rates in about Fine-Excellent condition. The additional forearm is also in about Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: This is a very clean Super Contender with an additional barrel, giving you shooting options. These guns were manufactured from 1999-2000 and this one appears to have seen little use or was extremely well maintained. Please see our photos and good luck!
