Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY / MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q.” The left side of the frame is marked “BDA-380 425 NM 10112”. The right side of the slide is marked with a circled “PB” logo and “FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL / MADE IN ITALY”. The right side of the frame is marked “CAT. 6754” and with a proof mark. The beavertail is marked with an Italian “BA” date stamp. The right side of the trigger guard is marked with the Italian Crown over Crest ‘Gardone’ proof and the Italian Crown over “PSF” smokeless powder proof. The barrel is marked “CAL. 9 Short / 380 Auto” and a ‘Gardone’ proof.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a half round blade set into the slide. The rear sight is a square notch leaf dovetailed into the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The two piece smooth walnut grips sport a Browning logo on both panels. Scattered tiny compressions are visible on the left panel. The right panel shows a small scratch through the finish towards the rear of the bottom edge. The grips rate in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is only one small faint blemish on the left side of the slide at the front. Otherwise, only sparse handling marks are visible. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in its original serial matching box with paperwork including a manual, a total of two 13-round magazines, and a cleaning brush. The box shows a small tear on the bottom right edge. There are spots of old adhesive from priorly applied tape on the bottom and top. The internal foam is intact. The box rates in about Very Good overall condition. The magazines show very light operational wear and and have a couple of light dings. The Magazines rate in about Fine condition. The base plates of the magazines are marked “CAL. 9 Short/380 Auto”. These magazines cannot be shipped to a resident of California or to a resident of any state with magazine capacity restrictions.
Our Assessment: This pistol is from the personal collection of actor James Darren who is well known for his many films and for playing the character Vic Fontaine on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. This pistol is in Excellent condition, retaining about 98% of its original nickel finish. The slide is steel and the frame is alloy, making this pistol lightweight and easy to conceal. The .380ACP round was designed for personal protection. This pistol comes with two 13-round double stack magazines which cannot be shipped to a resident of California or to a resident of any state with magazine capacity restrictions.
