Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are beautiful grained and satin finished pieces of highly figured walnut. The forearms have a Schnabel tip and the stock has the straight English wrist. The checkering is all sharp except for slight wear from storage in the case. This is just hardly mentionable dulling of the points. There is truly no wear to speak of. The LOP measures 14″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the excellent condition thin black Browning plate. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.
Type of Finish: Blue
Finish Originality: Factory Original
Bore Condition: The bores are all bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows wear only to the bottom barrels from the forearm moving to and fro during installation and disassembly. The top of the tang shows a bit of marking from the safety – and that is about the only wear we can find. This is a beautiful set that was rarely out of its case and has probably less than 10 rounds through each barrel. The screw heads appear unturned. The markings are crisp. Overall, this rifle set rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: A Browning leather takedown case and the original Owner’s Manual are provided. There are only a handful of marks on the case and the case rates in Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: This is a difficult set to assess, as we cannot take our eyes off of it long enough to type out a sentence. It is everything you would want in a sporting arm, perfect chambering for medium sized north American game and birds almost everywhere. We love the English style stocks and the 26″ shotgun barrels. The figure of the wood is incredible, the checkering is well done, the gun is made in Belgium and it is even cased. Chances are that if you landed on this auction, you know what you are looking at it, so we will stop here and let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
CA Legal or CA Private Party Transferable: This rifle/shotgun can be transferred/sold in California.
