Markings: The top of each barrel is marked “CHROMIUM MOLYBDENUM ALLOY STEEL” in front of the chambers. The left of the left barrel at the chamber and the right of the right barrel are each marked “PIETRO BERETTA Founded in 1680 / MADE IN ITALY” and “12 GAUGE”. The top of the rib at the rear is marked “BERETTA” and with a Beretta rings and arrows logo. The bottom of the left barrel is marked “Kg 1,450 18,4 17,3”, the bottom of the right is marked “20,3 / 70”, and “18,3 17,8”. Each side of the barrel flat is marked “CHOKE”, crown over “PB”, and “BERETTA”, the left flat is also marked with date code “XVII”, an Italian proof, “C46361” and a single five-pointed star, the right flat is also marked with two Italian proofs and two five-pointed stars. The bottom of the locking lug is marked “M / B”. The top of the forend iron is marked “C46361”, the inside of the forend is stamped “6361”. The water table is marked “P. BERETTA – Gardone V.T.”, “C46361”, “12” in circle, crown over “PB” and with three Italian proofs. The bottom of the receiver is marked “SILVER HAWK”. The receiver has scroll, floral and border engraving with a hawk in flight on the bottom and also a knight’s helm over a shield marked “ARMS / AMMUNITION”. The top of the lever is marked “PB”.

Sights / Optics: This shotgun is mounted with a silver-colored bead front sight at the front of the finely checkered solid rib.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with beavertail forend, capped pistol grip, fluted straight comb and a reddish-black checkered Beretta hard rubber buttplate. The forend has some scattered light dings and tiny draglines. The buttstock has several scattered light compressions, drag lines and scuffs. There is a short, hairline crack at the rear of the top tang. There are three small splits in the left side checkering. There are no chips. The checkering is well defined otherwise. The drop at heel measures about 2 5/16” at the rear of the wood. The drop at comb measures about 1 9/16”. The LOP measures 14” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate shows light wear with no major imperfections. The stocks rate in about Good-Very Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 96% of its metal finish. There is thinning at the muzzles. There are infrequently scattered tiny dings throughout the barrels with a more notable ding on the right barrel midway. There is thinning on the lever and edges of the trigger guard. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The safety automatically engages when the lever is pushed. The barrels lock up with no play to the receiver. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

This shotgun is in about Fine condition with 96% of its finish, bright bores, strong mechanics, and only some wear on its stocks preventing it from rating Fine-plus.
