Markings: The top of the receiver is marked “U.S. RIFLE M1A / SPRINGFIELD / ARMORY / 415566”. The top of the bolt is marked “7790186-SA / F00340”. The oprod is marked “7267064-2 / SA”. The left side of the shank is marked “SPRINGFIELD INC. GENESEO IL.”. The bottom right of the receiver is marked “Springfield Inc. Geneseo IL.”. The right side of the front sight is marked “NM 062”. The bottom inner portion of the stock is marked “BOYDS SA” towards the front and near the mag well, the date “JAN 17” followed by the year which cannot fully be made out but it is sometime in the 2010s.

Sights / Optics: The rear sight is a fully-adjustable aperture set between protective ears, the face of the right knob is marked “LEFT” twice between alternating curved arrows and “SA” underneath one of the curved arrows. The body of the left knob is marked with numbers 2-11. There is a threaded mounting point integral to the left of the receiver for a side mounted rail for an optical sight. The front sight is a blade set between two protective ears that is dovetailed and screw set to a base which is integral to the installed flash hider.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The Boyds smooth walnut stock features a semi-pistol grip and a straight comb with the factory sling swivel stud at the bottom of the forend and a fixed sling swivel at the rear. The buttplate is a hinged metal style with a storage compartment underneath. The upper handguard is brown polymer. The wood shows no notable imperfections aside from a few light handling marks. The length of pull measures 13 1/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate shows little to no wear. Overall, this stock rates in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is what appears to be a faint spot of erosion at the muzzle but may prove to be just a bit of stubborn fouling after a thorough cleaning.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The barrel and receiver show scattered light draglines and handling marks, none of which have taken finish off. The bottom metal shows some light thinning at the mag well from contact with the magazine. There is extremely light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are crisp and clear. Overall, the rifle is in about Fine-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes in a black canvas soft case with a myriad of goodies including a total of three 10-round magazines, paperwork including a manual, a packet of gun oil, an assortment of springfield stickers, two beer cozies, and a safety lock. The soft case shows minor storage wear with strong stitching and rates in about Fine-Excellent condition. The magazines show practically no wear, rating in Excellent condition. All other accessories are in Fine-Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: It is apparent at first glance that this rifle has seen little use. The rifle features a smooth Boyds walnut stock with almost no wear giving it an attractive classic appearance. Slap a couple of the multitude of Springfield stickers included on your bumper and show your SA pride! The highest bidder would be lucky to take this home. Please see our photos and good luck!
