Our Assessment: The Remington 700 needs no introduction. It has been one of the most popular bolt action rifles in America for decades, seeing use in target shooting, hunting, law enforcement, and militaries. This one is a 2006 Limited Edition Model 700 Vietnam Era M40. This rifle was a cooperative effort between Remington, Iron Brigade Armory and the United States Marine Corp Scout/Sniper Association and was built to the specs of the 1966 Marine Corp contract. It features a parkerized finish, oiled walnut stock, flat crowned barrel, wide safety, replica buttplate, special serial numbers and stampings. This one comes with a Redfield 3-9 power scope just like what was issued to the Marines when the M40 was adopted in 1966. The M40 is one of Remington’s most historically significant guns and now is your chance to own the closest replica made by the manufacturer of the original. Please see our photos and good luck!
