Markings: The left of the upper assembly is marked with its serial number “A2456”, Austrian proofs, “LDY” and the Wolf logo. The left of the frame is marked with the serial number “U2002”, with Austrian proofs and “ZDH”. The right of the upper assembly is marked “CAL. 9×21 Made in Austria”, the right of the frame is marked “Made in Austria”. The rear of the upper assembly is marked with its serial number “A2456” and with Austrian proofs.
Barrel Length: 4 1/2”, approximately 6 1/2” to the muzzle brake.
Sights / Optics: The front and rear sights have been removed and a one-piece rail has been installed. The rear of the upper has an empty dovetail and the front of the upper has a hole for mounting sights.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are black rubber, the sides have smooth panels, the front has a ribbed inlay, and the front strap has a finger groove inlay. The grips have some light handling marks but no rips or tears. Overall, the grips are in about Excellent condition.
Type of Finish: Blued
Finish Originality: Original to the parts, the upper assembly does not appear to be original to the frame.
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the polygonal rifling is strong. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The edges have thinning and finish loss. The frame has a mottled plum hue. There are a few marks and little scrapes on the edges of the muzzle brake, most notable on the rear edges. There is standard operational wear. There are some draglines from use and storage. The sides of the cocking piece appear to have been modified at the rear. The screw heads are undamaged. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in about Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger is light and crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: Something of an obscure pistol, the Wolf Ultramatic is an engineering marvel. With a locking bolt mechanism, fixed barrel and crisp single action trigger, the Ultramatic makes for a great target shooting pistol. The LV model has a 6” sigh radius, though this one has no iron sights and is installed with a rail, and is rather large at about 10? long and 6? tall. The mass of the gun, muzzle brake, and low reciprocating mass of the bolt assembly also help to enhance accuracy and speed up follow-up shots. This example is in great shape retaining about 97% of its metal finish with a great bore and strong mechanics. If you can find a magazine for it, it should make for a great shooter. It would also serve as a great conversation piece as they are quite rare and certainly unique in design. Please see our photos and good luck!
