Markings: The top of the right barrel is marked “CUSTOM CRAFTED FOR ITHACA BY SKB” and the top of the left barrel is marked “MODEL 280 – 12GA-2 ¾ CHAMBER PROOF TESTED / ITHACA GUN CO., INC., ITHACA, N.Y. MADE IN JAPAN – ROTO FORGED”. The bottom of the right barrel is marked “S5280497”. The bottom of the left barrel is marked “28262”. The top of the forend iron is marked “5280497”. The water table is marked “S5280497″ and the receiver has some scroll and border engraving with quail on either side.

Choke: The barrels are marked left side MOD and right IMP. With our gauge they measured left Improved Modified and the right Improved Cylinder
Sights / Optics: There is an orange fiber optic bead at the muzzle and a small silver mid bead on a serrated rib for glare reduction.
Weight: Just shy of 7lbs dry
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with beavertail forend, English straight grip, black plastic SKB – Ithaca buttplate. The stocks have a few scattered moderate dings and scratches. Some are more notable than others. Nothing major for a field gun in our opinion. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks noticed. The LOP measures 14” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The cast is about neutral. Overall, the stocks are in about Very Good – Fine condition overall.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. The action shows moderate operational wear. There is finish loss to the leading edges of the receiver, trigger guard, and barrel. All signs of loss are from typical handling, no sign of abuse. The screw heads are mostly sharp with the exception of the lower tang screw which is slightly disfigured, yet still serviceable. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in Very Good – Fine condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The lockup produces no play between the barrel and the receiver. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes with the factory box and matching end label. The box foam is cracked and stained. The cardboard is frayed at the edges and ripped at the corners. Please see the pictures of the factory box for a better idea of the condition.
