Our Assessment: This H&K Model 940 is chambered in .30-06 Springfield and has provision for H&K scope mounts (none included). Importation of these rifles ceased 30 years ago and finding one in this condition is becoming less common. The Model 940 uses a similar, robust, roller-delayed semi-automatic action to the famous G3 series rifle, but in a sporting stock. Chambered for a classic American cartridge, it will make a great deer rifle which allows for quick follow-up shots. It’s also a nice addition for the HK collector. Please see our photos and good luck!
