Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “CIMARRON’S REPEATING ARMS.FREDERICKSBURG.TEXAS.U.S.A. / -KING’S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29.1866.OCTOBER.16.1860-” and “CAL. 357 MAG.” at the rear near the receiver. The top tang is marked “MODEL 1873” between two motifs, the bottom tang is marked with “A. UBERTI-ITALY” and the serial number “W09736”. The bottom of the receiver is marked with two proofs and CAT.5991”.

Barrel Length: 20” Octagonal

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed to the barrel at the muzzle. The rear sight is an elevation adjustable semi-buckhorn V/U-notched reversible blade with a diamond aim guide that is dovetailed to the barrel.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece smooth wood with a straight grip, straight comb, and a crescent steel buttplate. The stocks show infrequently scattered little nicks and draglines, more so on the right side of the buttstock. There are no chips or cracks present. The LOP measures 13” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate a few barely noticeable nicks around the edges. The stocks rate in about Fine-Plus overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows extremely light thinning at the muzzle with barely perceptible marks on the barrel and receiver. The case coloring has faded slightly but is generally strong. There is faint operational wear. The markings are clear. The screw heads are sharp. This rifle rates in about Fine-Excellent overall condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The lever safety and lever lock are present. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This box comes in its original serial matched box. The box shows minor storage rubs with light compressions and creases. There are no rips or tears. The box rates in about Excellent condition.
