Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “Browning Arms Company Morgan, Utah & Montreal P.Q. / Made In Belgium”. The right side is marked “Browning Centennial / 1878-1978”. The serial number is found on the front of the grip frame. The right side of the trigger guard shows a star over “S” and a pineapple proof mark.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade. The rear sight is a notch in a dovetail slot.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are fully checkered walnut with “B” logos. There are a few minor surface compression marks but no dings, mars, cracks, or losses. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Finish Originality: All Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp and deep. There is no erosion in the bore. This bore may be unfired since leaving the factory.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 99% plus of its metal finish. There is a still original grease and coating on the finish. When wiped away the finish is mirror bright. There are no visible scratches or losses to the finish. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol rates in about Near New in Box condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The original presentation wood case is provided with this pistol. There is a plaque on the top which reads “1878 Browning / Centennial 1978”. A paper tape label showing the serial number is found on the top front right side. The wooden box is in Very Good overall condition but showing a few small nicks in the lid and scratches to the bottom which is covered in a thin sheet of rubber or plastic. The interior of the box is Excellent and shows no dirt or losses. An original key is included as is the owner’s manual. One full capacity magazine is included. This magazine will not be provided to a California resident or to a resident of any state with magazine capacity restrictions.
Our Assessment: This is a fabulous looking and Belgian made Nickel Browning Centennial High Power, with a great combination of features and a presentation case. This pistol appears to be unfired since leaving the factory and is in Near New Condition. What a find! Collectors be on notice, there will be strong bidding on this pistol. This pistol can be found on page 18 of the Curio and Relics list. This is a must have!
