Action Type: Single and Double Action Revolver With Swing Out Cylinder
Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “PYTHON .357 / * .357 MAGNUM CTG. *”. The right side of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.”. The flat under the crane and the crane are marked with the serial number. The sideplate is marked with a “Rampant Colt” logo. The left front of the trigger guard is marked with “VP” in a triangle and at the rear with “N”. The barrel, frame and cylinder have extensive relief scroll engraving with borders around the barrel markings and the patterns leaving the frame markings undisturbed. The right of the grip frame, under the grip, is marked “M.E.GOUSE ENGR. 2020”.
Barrel Length: 6″ vent rib barrel with full underlug.
Sights / Optics: The rear sight is a square notch adjustable for windage and elevation that is pinned to the top strap of the frame. The front sight is a serrated ramp blade pinned to the top of the rib. The top of the barrel rib and the top strap have a matte finish to reduce glare.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered walnut with gold colored Colt medallions. The grips have only a few scattered minor marks and faint oxidation on the right panel’s grip screw escutcheon. The checkering is well defined, generally sharp. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Fine-Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Refinished, Original to engraving.
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 97% of its finish. The balance is mostly in spots of minor surface erosion on the barrel, a couple on the left at the barrel markings, a couple on the right just below the rib, and one on the muzzle, just outside the crown. There is a nick on the outside edge of the muzzle. The action shows very faint operational wear. The cylinder has faint turn-wear, only in the lead-in grooves. The screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in about Fine condition as refinished.
Mechanics: The lock-up on this revolver is SOLID, with no play when the trigger is depressed. The action functions correctly. The double action trigger is smooth. The single action is crisp. We have not fired this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes in a wood Colt Custom Shop display case with French-fit red fabric-lined interior. The case is fit for a Trooper MK III, not for a Python. A key for the case is included as well as an assortment of factory paperwork including manual. The case has some scattered light nicks, scratches and general storage wear, in about Very Good-Fine condition.
