Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “Old Reliable” within a rectangle, “SHILOH RIFLE MFG. CO.” and “CALIBRE 45 / 2 4/10”, the bottom (under the forend) is marked with the serial number and “45 90”. The left of the receiver is marked “SHILOH RIFLE MFG. CO. / FARMINGDALE, N.Y.”, the top is marked with the serial number behind the loading groove.
Barrel Length: 28″, Octagonal
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade that is slotted into a base and dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a flip up elevation sight with a gliding U-notch leaf in the up position and a V-notch leaf sight when flipped down. It is dovetailed and screwed to the rear of the barrel. The top tang is drilled and tapped with a folding peep aperture sight adjustable for windage and elevation.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece smooth walnut with a straight grip, straight comb, and smooth carbine-style case color steel buttplate. The forend has a few light handling marks. The buttstock has a couple of scuffs on the belly and a few other infrequently scattered minor nicks and draglines. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 3/4″ and 12 3/4″ from the fronts of the triggers to the back of the buttplate. The plate has a few minor scratches. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 96% of its metal finish. The finish is lightly thinning at some edges. There is a bit of discoloration and thinning on the rear barrel sight. There is a bit of stubborn residue in certain crevices. The case color is slightly muted on the hammer. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads range from sharp to lightly tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Fine-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The hammer has a half-cock position. The lever locks up tight. The trigger is light and crisp when set, heavier but still crisp when not set. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
