Markings: The left of the barrel is marked “CAL. 338 Lapua. Mag. 10 MADE IN FINLAND” and with a Finnish proof. The left of the receiver is marked “SAKO TRG-42” with the serial number and a Finnish proof. The bottom of the bolt handle is hand marked “991”. The right of the barrel is marked with Beretta U.S.A.’s warning and import mark. The top of the muzzle brake is marked “Roedale 18×1”.

Sights / Optics: The top of the receiver is grooved to accept scope mounts and is also drilled and tapped and has a rail installed. A 6? picatinny rail is installed. There is no provision for iron sights.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a tan synthetic with beavertail forend inletted for an 8? accessory rail, pistol grip, adjustable comb, adjustable buttplate/pad, and sling studs mounted on each side of the buttstock, one installed in the accessory rail on the bottom of the forend, and another mounted under the free-floated barrel with the stud on the left of the barrel at the front of the forend. A Magpul MOE rail is installed on the bottom of the forend. The right side has two scrapes through the finsih at about the receiver. There are a few minor rubs and scuffs. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The pad shows little to no wear. The stocks rate in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion but there are some small spots of stubborn fouling.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The matte surfaces show light rubs that have caused smooth spots. There are a couple tiny marks into the finish, the most noticeable are above the bolt release. The bedding block has a few marks through the black finish, most noticeable on the left. The bolt body shows light operational wear. The screw heads are undamaged and the markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in Fine Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The bolt moves smoothly. The safety is a paddle inside the trigger guard which can be pulled to the rear for safe and pushed forward for fire. The trigger is light and crisp. The magazine release is a paddle at the rear of the magazine well. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with a single 5-round magazine and a manual. The magazine has very faint operational wear and a few oil marks with intact feed lips and a strong spring, in about Fine condition.
