Markings: The left of the slide is marked “”CLARK” HARD BALL / Keithville, LA. 71047″, “COLT”, “SUPER .38 / AUTOMATIC” and with a rampant colt. The right of the slide is marked “COLT’S MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.”. The left of the trigger guard is marked “Q” and “VP” in triangle. The right of the frame is marked “91388”. The right of the trigger guard is marked “99”. The right link lug is marked “388” and “C” in box, the left is marked “M”. The bottom of the slide is marked “388” and “3-85”. The barrel is marked “COLT .38 SPEC. / KIT”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade fixed to the front of the slide. The rear sight is a Bo-Mar square notch adjustable for windage and elevation in a base dovetailed to the rear of the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered walnut with gold-colored Colt medallions. The grips have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Excellent condition. The mainspring housing and frontstrap have been stippled for additional grip.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its current metal finish. The most notable finish wear is on the left-rear of the slide above the thumb-safety. There is a minor scratch under the slide stop. The action has light operational wear. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in about Fine-Excellent condition as customized.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide to frame fit has no perceptible play, and the slide moves smoothly on the frame. The trigger is light and crisp. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, it may need a thorough cleaning to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with instructions, serial-matching invoice, and serial-matching test target from Clark, with a total of three 5-round magazine. The magazines have minor operational wear, intact feed lips and strong springs, in about Fine-Excellent condition.
