Action Type: Lever Actuated Falling Block Single Shot

Markings: The bottom left side of the receiver is marked with “CB4-00213”. The left side of the barrel breech is marked “7X57” and with a Ruger proof mark.  The top of the receiver is marked “RUGER / NO. 1”.  The top of the barrel is marked with “BEFORE USING GUN-READING WARNINGS IN INSTRUCTION MANUAL AVAILABLE FREE FROM / RUGER, NEWPORT, NH U.S.A.”. The buttpad is marked with the Ruger logo. The grip cap has a medallion with a Ruger logo.

Barrel Length: 22”

Sights/Optics: The barrel is drilled and tapped with a serrated quarter rib cut for Ruger rings (none included). The front sight is a brass beaded blade set in a slotted ramped barrel band base. The rear sight is an aftermarket two position ladder sight dovetailed into the quarter rib. The sight has a square notch at the bottom of a “V” valley in the down position and when flipped up the slider has a square notch at the bottom of a “U” valley.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two piece checkered walnut with capped pistol grip, straight comb, black rubber Ruger buttpad, and sling stud in the belly, there is a second sling mount on a barrel band base. There are a couple light compressions, most noticeable on the left of the forend at the front and sides of the buttstock towards the rear but they are quite light. The most notable defect is a small mark through the finish on the left side of the butt at the sling swivel stud. The sides of the wood are proud to the sides of the receiver. The checkering has light handling wear, but is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 1/2” from the front of the trigger to the back of the pad. The pad has minor wear. The spacer is slightly proud at the toe. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine-Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains 98% of its original blued finish. There are a few rubs on the lever with light thinning at the rear edge. The left rear of the quarter rib has a mark from from a previously installed ring. There is standard operational wear and light handling wear. The markings are clear. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger is light and crisp. The lever locks up solidly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
