Markings: The top-rear of the barrel is marked “38-55”. The top tang is marked “MODEL 1894 / WINCHESTER”. The bottom-front of the receiver is marked with the serial number. The sides of the receiver have Chief Crazy Horse Commemorative engraving.
Barrel Length: 26”, Octagonal
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a globe-style sight which accepts interchangeable apertures. The only aperture included is the installed beaded post with a yellow transparent aperture. The rear of the barrel has a dovetail with a blank installed. The top tang is drilled and tapped with a folding aperture sight installed. The aperture sight is adjustable for windage and elevation. The arm doesn’t appear to have a detent, so it will not reliably return to the same position when folded up.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered select walnut with capped pistol grip, straight comb, capped forend and steel crescent buttplate. The forend has a gap to the receiver. The stocks have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has no notable wear or damage. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine-Excellent condition as not original to the gun.

Finish Originality: Refinished, the barrel is not original to the rifle.
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its current metal finish. There are only a few scattered minor marks and light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Fine-plus condition as modified.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The hammer has a half cock safety position and there is a functioning lever safety present. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
