Serial Number: 30677B. The “B” suffix was added during the Arsenal Refurbishment.

Action Type: Semi Automatic, Detachable Magazine

Markings: The import mark on the barrel reads “SARCO STLIG N.J. / M42 6.5X55 SWEDEN”. The left side of the receiver is marked with a Carl Gustafs “crown / C” stamping between “19” and “45”. The left side of the receiver is also marked with the serial number including a “B” suffix. The right side of the receiver is marked “S.S.”. The rear of the receiver is marked with a “crown” and “B”. Many of the metal parts are marked with small “crowns”. The buttplate is marked with the serial number (no “B” suffix). The left side of the bolt carrier is etched with the serial number (no “B” suffix). The left side of the top cover is marked “B” and with a small Swedish stamping. The left side of the front sight and front sight base are both marked “+0.5”. The top of the rear sight assembly is marked “B”. The marking disk on the butt is marked over the “8” in the large section, over the “1” in the medium section, and over the “1” in the small section. The front of the magazine is marked “circled J” and “B”. The bottom of the magazine is marked “B”.

Barrel Length: Approximately 25 ½ Inches

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a bladed post set under a protective hood. The rear sight is an elevation adjustable “U” notched blade. The large knob on the left is turned to raise & lower the sight. There is a window next to the knob that reads the elevation. It is marked from “1-7”.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The two piece hardwood stock has a pistol grip, finger grooves, nosecap with a hole for the included cleaning rod, barrel band with sling bar, through bolt, sling loop under the butt and a metal buttplate. The buttplate shows scrapes, small deep scratches, and pin prick surface erosion along the edge. The wood shows several scrapes and scratches. Many of the marks have damaged the finish or small portions of the surface wood.  Most of these marks have been oiled over. The LOP measures 13 1/2 inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Very Good Plus overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original to Arsenal Refurbishment

Bore Condition: The lands are bright and the grooves are semi bright. The rifling is deep. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 96% of its metal finish. The top cover shows scrapes, scratches, and areas of thinning. The bolt carrier and edges of the receiver show some thinning consistent with cycling. The front sight shows scrapes & thinning. The metal shows other light scrapes & handling marks. The screw heads show use. The markings are deep. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good Plus to Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The rifle comes with an Arsenal Refurbished 10 round magazine. It has areas of pin prick surface erosion showing through the new finish. It shows scrapes and areas of light discoloration. It is in about Very Good Plus condition.
