Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “WINCHESTER / PROOF STEEL / MODEL 61 / WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK / 22 W.R.F.”. The right side of the barrel is marked “MADE IN U S A WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO / NEW HAVEN CONN PATENTS PENDING”. The top of the barrel and receiver is marked with “WP”. The bottom of the receiver and trigger guard is marked “37380”.
Barrel Length: 24” Octagon
Sights / Optics: There is a beaded blade dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is a leaf and elevator sight with a “U” notch blade, the elevator is present.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two piece walnut with serrated forend and pistol grip buttstock. The stocks show moderate wear with scratches, impact marks, and drag lines throughout, some of these marks scratch through the finish. There is a small crack on the pistol grip near the upper tang. The forend shows minor discoloration between the left and right sides. The LOP measures 13 ½” from the front of the trigger to the back of the checkered buttplate. The buttplate shows moderate wear with minor patina.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 85% of its original metal finish. The balance of finish shows moderate handling and storage marks with heavy finish thinning present on the magazine tube under the forend. A think layer of pinprick erosion is begging to form on the blued surfaces. The blued surfaces are beginning to shift from blue to brown. The markings are clear. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this shotgun. As with all firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
