Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN, CONN., U.S.A. / MOD. 62 —MICRO-GROOVE BARREL- CAL. .30 U.S. CARBINE”. The right side of the barrel at the receiver is marked with a circled “JM” proof. The left side of the receiver is marked “AB 7910”.

Sights / Optics: This rifle is mounted with a brass bead front sight dovetailed into a serrated ramp base screwed to the top of the barrel. The rear sight is a “U” notch blade with elevator that is dovetailed into the barrel. The top of the receiver is drilled, tapped, and filled for a scope base.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one piece smooth walnut with a capped pistol grip. The forend tapers from its flat underside to the barrel and the tip of the forend is undercut. The stock shows scattered handling and storage marks with a few impact marks. The checkered hard rubber buttplate shows moderate wear with no chips or cracks. The buttstock shows no chips or cracks. This buttstock is mounted with a sling swivel at the forend and at the buttstock, a drilled third hole in front of the rear swivel mount is present but is not filled. The LOP measures 13 ¼” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 90% of its metal finish. There are several scratches on the sides of the front sight and on the left side of the barrel. The blued surfaces show light surface erosion with a thick patch under the front sight. The lever shows edge wear and finish thinning. The bolt shows a brown patina throughout. The screw heads range from sharp to lightly tooled with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The lever locks up tightly. There is a safety on the right side of the receiver that locks the trigger and the lever. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with a single blued steel magazine. The magazine shows minimal wear, but there is some finish loss on the baseplate edges.
