Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “COLT SINGLE ACTION FRONTIER SCOUT .22 CAL.”, the top is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.”. The left of the frame has a circled rampant colt logo, the bottom is marked with the serial number in front of the grip frame. The left of the trigger guard is marked “U”. There is decorative engraving on the butt. One cylinder is marked “.22 L.R.” three times around the outside, the other has “.22 MAG.”.
Barrel Length: 4 3/4″
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade fixed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a square notch in the topstrap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece smooth walnut panels. The grips have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder locks up with very little play on each chamber. The trigger is crisp. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes in a two-piece faux-wood cardboard Colt box which is fit for the extra cylinder and with a serial-matching warranty card confirming this revolver shipped with dual cylinders. The box has minor storage wear, most at the corners, having been well preserved by the cardboard sleeve which is also included, in about Fine-Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: The Frontier Scout is a scaled down version of it’s predecessors/grandfathers, the SAA and Frontier Six Shooter. Made by colt and true to the original design, this one was made in 1969 and has one cylinder chambered for the ubiquitous .22 Long Rifle cartridge, the other for the more powerful .22 Magnum. It is an “F” model, having a lightweight alloy frame. This example is in Excellent condition, appearing to have spent more time in the included box than out. This should make a fun little plinker for the lucky winner or a great addition to a Colt collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
