Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”, the right “.357 MAGNUM”. The left side of the frame has S&W’s monogram logo, the right has “SPFLD, MA / S&W U.S.A.”. The sideplate is marked “386 Sc/S”. The yoke cut is marked with the serial number and the model number. The yoke and sides of the frame have inspection marks. The butt is marked with the serial number.
Barrel Length: 2 1/2”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramp blade with a red insert, pinned to a rise in the solid, serrated rib. The rear sight is a flat top, square notched white outlined leaf in a base that is micrometer-click adjustable for windage and elevation. The top strap is factory drilled and tapped for mounting an optic (this will require removing the rear sight).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is a one-piece pebble-textured black rubber S&W branded Hogue grip with finger grooves which leaves the backstrap, lanyard slot and butt exposed. The grip has minor handling wear, mostly just light scuffing in the smooth portions. There are no rips or tears. Overall, the grip is in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are a couple of minor nicks on the left edge of the barrel shroud at the muzzle and minor operational wear. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder produces light side to side play with no measurable back play in full lockup of all 7 chambers. The double action trigger pull is smooth, the single action is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The 386 Sc/S is a compact, lightweight, double action revolver from Smith & Wesson which is just about the smallest and lightest gun you’re going to find that carries seven rounds of .357 Magnum. With its excellent trigger and comfortable grips, this revolver would make a fine home defense handgun, hunting sidearm, concealed carry gun, or addition to a collection lacking a revolver. With the ability to add an optic and the extra round, it could also be good for revolver competition shooting. Please see our pictures and good luck!
