Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in about Excellent condition.

R20049: This revolver retains about 99% of its metal finish. The cylinder has a very light turn-line and there are a few scattered minor marks, but none through the finish. There is some stubborn fouling around the rear of the barrel inside the frame, but none on the front face of the cylinder. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The actions function correctly. The cylinders lock up tight with no movement on all chambers when the triggers are depressed. We did not fire these handguns. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: These revolvers come housed in a custom wood display case with faux-snakeskin lining on the inside of the lid, gray fabric fitted tray and three plates inlaid to the inside of the lid. Two plates have the revolvers’ make, model, serial, caliber and manufacture year information, the center plate was taken from a Colt Diamondback Special Edition 1 of 500 presentation case. A faux-wood cardboard Colt box is included serial-matched to the blued Diamondback as well as a custom belt-buckle marked “Diamondback” with a snake on the front and signed “Doyle Fowler” on the reverse. The presentation case has minor storage wear, in about Fine-Excellent condition. The Colt box has scattered light storage wear with some fraying at edges in about Good-plus condition. The belt buckle has minor storage wear in about Fine condition.

Our Assessment: The Diamondback is essentially a shorter framed Python both in the cylinder and grip frame, sharing similar aesthetic dynamics and is no less striking than its predecessor. This is a beautiful pair with one blued and one nickel finish, housed in a gorgeous display case. The set is in Excellent condition, appearing to have spent more time on display than at the range and comes with one of the gun’s original Colt boxes and a nice Diamondback belt buckle that will show well with the revolvers in the case. This is a beautiful set of two classic “Snake Guns”, perfect for any collection. Please see our pictures and good luck!
