Our Assessment: The Walther PPK/S is one of those timeless designs that just seems to get better with age. In truth, this pistol is so well designed, and features so many innovative and useful features, that it is still considered one of the premier self-defense/pocket pistols available today. After the Gun Control Ban of 1968, the Walther PPK was banned in the United States, so Walther came up with a PPK/S by changing the frame to the larger frame of the PP, but keeping the shorter slide and barrel of the PPK. This one is chambered in the useful .22 LR Caliber, which makes a fine round for trail use, plinking, or self defense training. This one has seen some use but has remained attractive, has great mechanics, and a stellar bore, plus it even comes with two mags to get you started, perfect for your next trip to the range. Walther’s are known for their reliability, and this should give someone decades of shooting fun. Please see our photos and good luck!
