Our Assessment: The Ruger Blackhawk platform has long been praised as one of the strongest actions ever made for a single-action revolver and this Super Blackhawk, chambered for .44 Remington Magnum and made in 1981 is no exception. This example has further been customized by gunsmith Gary Reeder with a shorter, crowned barrel, stainless steel round-butt grip frame, stag grips and decorative engraving. The revolver is in Fine condition as customized with some light cosmetic marks, but has great mechanics and a nice bright bore with sharp riflign and no erosion. This will make for a fine hunting sidearm and, while single action revolvers may not be the ideal self-defense weapon, six rounds of .44 Magnum is nothing to sneeze at if you need to stop a threat. Please see our photos and good luck!
