Markings: The bottom-left barrel is marked “CHIAPPA FIREARMS, LTD. / DAYTON OH / AKKAR – TURKEY” at the chamber, the bottom-right with “TRIPLE THREAT MODEL / 12 GA 2 3/4″ – 3″ / PATENT NO.US 6.935.063.B1”. The right barrel flat, the top of the forend iron, and the top tang are each marked with the serial number.

Choke: Each barrel is threaded for RemChokes. Cylinder, Modified and Improved Cylinder are installed, Improved Modified and Full are included.
Sights / Optics: There is a red fiber-optic insert in a base at the front of the top barrel.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are three-piece walnut with checkered beavertail forend, checkered pistol grip, straight comb, textured black rubber buttpad and a sling stud in the belly (the other is mounted to the bottom barrel rib in front of the forend). The rear portion of the stock is removable with brass caps on each portion where they meet. There are a few scattered light compressions and scuffs, most notable on the left of the wrist in front of the checkering. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is well defined. The LOP measures 14 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad, 6 7/8″ to the seam between the two portions of the stock. Drop at comb is approximately 1 1/2″, drop at heel 2 1/2″. The cast is about neutral. The pad shows minor wear. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is only minor operational wear and light handling marks. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The barrels lock up with no play to the receiver. The safety does not engage automatically when the action is opened, but functions properly when engaged manually. We did not fire this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes in a black plastic Chiappa case with the additional chokes, choke wrench, sling swivel, and a wrench for detaching the rear portion of the stock. The case has light storage wear on the exterior, little on the interior, in about Very Good-plus condition. The accessories are in Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: This is Chiappa’s Triple Threat, a break-action three-barrel shotgun. Threaded for RemChokes and with three 18″ barrels, this gives one more follow-up than a traditional double barrel shotgun. With 18 1/2″ barrels, this is essentially a coach gun, but 150%. Not content with just having extra capacity, it also has a neat two-piece stock so you can swap back and forth between pistol grip and full stock, allowing for flexibility between being compact and controllable. This example is in Excellent condition showing little sign of use, great bores and strong mechanics. It will certainly make a great addition to any collection, especially for those who appreciate guns that are a little out of the ordinary. Please see our photos and good luck!
