Markings: The bottom of the receiver is marked “KOLAR” with their rampant lion logo, the water table is marked “K02294”. The top of the forend iron is marked “2294”.
O/U barrel set: The left of the top barrel is marked “12 GA. 2 3/4″ CHAMBER / USE FACTORY LOADED TARGET AMMUNITION ONLY”, the right is marked “KOLAR ARMS INC. – RACINE, WISC. U.S.A.”. The right of each barrel has an inspection mark below the forend line. The bottom of the bottom barrel has a warning to read the instruction manual. The monoblock is marked “2294”.
Un-Single barrel set: The left of the false top barrel is double-marked “12 GA. 2 3/4″ CHAMBER” over “USE FACTORY LOADED TARGET AMMUNITION ONLY”, the right is marked “KOLAR ARMS INC. – RACINE, WISC. U.S.A.”. The right of the barrel has an inspection mark below the forend line. The bottom of the bottom barrel has a warning to read the instruction manual. The monoblock is marked “2294”.

Choke: The barrels are threaded for removable chokes with Improved Modified over Light Modified installed on the O/U barrel set, Light Full on the Un-Single. Full and Modified are also included.
Sights / Optics: Each barrel set has a white bead in a base at the front of its rib and a smaller silver-colored mid-bead. Both ribs have a smooth center-line with fine checkering to each side for glare reduction.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with semi-beavertail forend, pistol grip with slight right-side palm swell, adjustable comb and black rubber Kick-Eez buttpad mounted on a plate adjustable for LOP with one spacer installed and another included. The installed spacer is uniform in thickness, aproximately 1/8″. The extra spacer is tapered from approximately 1/4″ at the heel to 1/16″ at the toe. The forend has a compression on the left at the top-rear. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures approximately 13 7/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the pad, 12 1/2″ to the back of the wood. The pad is still supple showing minor wear, mostly appearing to be from shaping. As currently configured, drop at the front and rear of the comb are approximately 1 1/16″ and drop at heel 2 1/8″, consistent between both barrel sets. The comb has approximately 1/2″ of travel available down (increasing drop) and about 3/4″ of travel up (decreasing drop). Decreasing drop from its current configuration will require removing pillar extensions from the assembly. The comb has approximately 5/8″ of transverse travel available total but is currently approximately centered. The cast is about neutral. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine-Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are all bright. There is no erosion in any of the bores. There is some stubborn fouling which will come out with a patient cleaning
Overall Condition: This shotgun set retains approximately 97% of its metal finish. Each barrel set has some wear from the forend, concealed while assembled, and with slightly more on the un-single barrel set. The action shows very light operational wear. The screw heads have strong sockets. The markings are mostly clear except for the double-mark on the un-single barrel set. Overall, this shotgun set is in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors on both barrel sets. The O/U barrel set’s ejectors are a little bit weak with full-weight snap-caps clearing the chambers by about 2″, but should be no problem with empty-weight shells. The action locks up tight with no play with both barrel sets. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes in a Kolar aluminum combination-lock case wtih black felt interior which has compartments for the forend, stocked receiver, each barrel set, and two for accessories. Accessories include a tool kit with an assortment of wrenches, screws and plastic washers for the comb pillars, a blue plastic Kolar case with the additional chokes and a choke wrench, the additional buttpad shim, a mostly empty tube of CMD gun lube, a Santa Ynez Valley Sportsmen’s Association patch, two leather toe-fobs and a leather Old Santa Ynez Day 2014 badge. The case shows minor storage wear, in about Fine condition. The accessories show signs of use with tools and parts showing no notable damage, the leather toe-fobs show more notable use.
Our Assessment: This is a fantastic shotun set that will make for a versatile gun to use for Sporting Clays and Trap. Kolar has developed a well-earned reputation for guns which are durable, dependable and beautiful. This shotgun is no exception from its graceful lines to its gorgeous stocks, it is a gun that will turn heads and bust clays. Equipped with a 34″ Un-Single barrel with adjustable rib as well as a 32″ over-under barrel set, each with ejectors and threaded for removable chokes, the gun retains consistent weight, sight picture and drop with each set allowing you to go from trap to sporting clays with a gun that is equally comfortable and familiar. The gun is in about Excellent condition with minor handling and operational wear. This will make a fantastic addition to any clay shooter’s collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
