Mechanics: This rifle was brought to us in its original factory packaging and we suspect that the zip-tie currently installed on the lever is original to its packaging. We have elected to leave the zip tie intact. We see nothing to indicate that the action will not function correctly. The hammer has a half-cock safety position, the rifle is equipped with a lever safety, and there is a cross-bolt safety at the back of the receiver that blocks the hammer. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes in a Marlin cardboard box with serial-matching label, lock, hammer offset, and factory paperwork including manual and factory hang-tag still installed on the front sling stud. the box has scattered storage wear and some short tears at ear-corners, in about Very Good condition.

Our Assessment: This is a Marlin Model 1894 made in 2007 and chambered for the classic .45 Colt cartridge. The stocks are smooth wood with a straight grip and checkered black hard rubber Marlin buttplate. The rifle is in Excellent condition, appearing to have spent far more time in its factory packaging than out. We don’t like to use the word “unfired” for pre-owned guns, but with the factory hang-tag still on the front sling stud and in such high condition, it’s entirely possible that this rifle was purchased and then properly stored for the last 13 years. This is a great find for the Marlin fan who prefers the original Marlins to their current iteration under Remington. Please see our photos and good luck!
