Markings: The left barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. / ASEMBLED IN KOREA WITH JAPANESE COMPONENTS”, the right is marked “B-S/S SPECIAL STEEL 20 GA. SHELLS – 2 3/4″ AND 3″”. The bottom of the left barrel is marked “1”, the right “3”. The left barrel flat is marked with Japanese proofs, “01557”, “20 / 28″ / *”, the right with Japanese proofs and “20 / 28″ / **”. The top of the forend iron is marked “01557RP368”. The water table is marked with a Japanese proof, the top tang with “01557RP368”, and the bottom of the receiver is marked “BROWNING”. The receiver and trigger guard have Grade I engraving.

Sights / Optics: There is a brass bead at the front of the rib. The top of the rib is serrated for glare reduction.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two piece checkered walnut with semi-beavertail forend, straight grip, straight comb and textured black plastic Browning buttplate. The stocks have a few scattered minor marks, the most notable compressions in the left wrist flat and the left-rear of the forend. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has minor wear at the heel and toe. Drop at comb is approximately 1 1/2″, drop at heel 2 3/8″. Overall, the stocks are in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright with no erosion.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The barrels have minor wear from the forend, concealed when assembled, and the top tang has minor wear from the safety. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads range from sharp to lightly tool marked with a strong slot. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in about Fine-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors. The barrels lock with no play to the frame. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This is an exceedingly well made and beautiful looking Browning side by side shotgun. It is a Sporter model with semi-beavertail forend and straight grip with a long tang. The 28” barrels are chambered for 2 3/4″ or 3″ 20 gauge shells, choked Full/Modified and with ejectors. Lightweight at less than 6 1/2 pounds, this will make for a fast-handling upland bird gun. That said, it is in exceedingly good condition and the B-S/S Sporter models are prized by Browning collectors.
