Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “HK P30L 9mmx19”. The barrel through the ejection port is marked “HK 9mmx19 / 213-003666? and with a proof mark. The right side of the frame at the rear is marked “HK Sidearms GmbH / Made in Germany” just below the slide. The right side of the frame is also marked with a proof in between the slide stop and rail. The underside of the trigger guard reminds you to read the instructions and a metal plate embedded in the bottom of the dust cover is marked “HKI-Columbus GA / 213-003666”. The left side of the grip is marked “P30”. The right side of the slide is marked “213-003666” followed by a proof, “AK”, another proof, and “DE”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade with a luminous dot dovetailed to the front of the slide, the rear sight is a square notch lo-mount style sight with two luminous dots dovetailed to the rear of the slide. The dots glow very bright in low-light.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is integral to the polymer frame with interchangeable textured panels on each side and an interchangeable backstrap to adjust the grip to fit your hands. Two additional pairs of side panels and two additional backstraps are included with the pistol. The grip frame has no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The grip frame is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the polygonal rifling is well defined. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The barrel shows faint operational wear. There is a scuff on the slide just in front of the ejection port on the top of the slide. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The pinheads are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This pistol features ambidextrous slide release, magazine release and decocker lever mounted on the rear of the frame. The slide to frame fit is tight producing barely perceptible movement. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a black plastic Heckler and Koch box with the carry handle and label serial-matching, two sets of grip side panels, two backstraps, test fired brass, two 10-round magazines, and an assortment of factory paperwork including manual. The additional grip components all rate Excellent. The mags have light marks from standard use, in about Fine Plus condition.
Our Assessment: From HK’s website, “A recent HK pistol design, the P30 is a modern police and security pistol that combines function and safety. Ergonomic features include a special grip frame with interchangeable backstrap inserts and lateral plates, allowing the pistol to be individually adapted to any user. Ambidextrous controls include dual slide releases and magazine release levers. Extensively tested, the P30 has already been adopted by several European police agencies. Excellent weight and balance make the P30 naturally pointable, easy to control, and accurate to shoot. An open notch rear sight with luminous (non-radioactive) contrast points allows for fast and accurate target acquisition, even under poor lighting conditions. During a 2010 endurance test, a randomly selected P30 test pistol fired more than 91,000 rounds without any major component failures.”. This is a fantastic pistol for carry or home defense.
