Markings: The bottom-right of the barrel, forward of the stock, is marked with a warning to read the manual and “cal..22 l.r.”, the left of the barrel at the rear is marked “CIP / N”, “BG” date code, Ulm antler proof, and “FXXX”. The left of the receiver is marked “ANSCHUTZ”, “CIP / N”, with the serial number and “DE”, the right is marked “Mod. 54.30 / cal. .22 l.r.” and “ANSCHUTZ”. The top of the receiver, under the installed scope base, is marked “J. G. ANSCHUTZ Ulm Germany” and “GSI – Trussville, AL”. The right of the stock has “ANSCHUTZ” on an inlaid plate below the comb. The trigger guard is marked with an Anschutz logo. The bolt is marked “CIP / N” on the body and handle, the front face is marked “369”.
Barrel Length: 26″ (660mm).
Sights / Optics: The top of the receiver is grooved with an Anscutz scope base with a pair of 30mm rings installed. Also included is a grooved barrel extension for mounting a front sight, which extends the sight radius by approximately 8″. No scope or sights are included with this rifle.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a walnut target-style with flat-bottom beavertail forend which has a replaceable bottom, pistol grip (for right-hand), rollover monte-carlo comb, and checkered black rubber buttpad on adjustable buttplate. The stock has a few scattered light nicks, scuffs and scrapes with more notable marks at the toe and on the bottom of the replaceable forend toward the front. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures approximately 13 5/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the pad, 12 1/2″ to the back of the wood. The trigger is adjustable for LOP with approximatley 1/8″ of travel available to the rear and 1/4″ to the front. Overall, the stock is in about Very Good-plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The majority of the balance is in light wear at the muzzle from installation/removal of the barrel extension. The bolt shows minor operational wear. Otherwise, the metal shows only light handling marks. The screw heads are undamaged. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Fine-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger has a very light, very smooth takeup followed by a surprising and light break. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with a two-piece barrel extension/front sight base, a combination sling-swivel/handstop, a steel cylinder which we believe is some type of weight but does not have any means of mounting, and a series of hex-wrenches and flat-head screwdrivers. The accessories show minor storage and handling wear, in Fine-Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: From Anschutz’s website: “The new ANSCHÜTZ target small bore barreled action 54.30 is the evolution of the legendary ANSCHÜTZ Match 54 action. The new 54.30 is based on ideas an requirements established in modern target shooting are backed-up with decades of testing and proven components. Benchrest shooting is a discipline in which an extremely high precision is decisive. During shooting the rifle is put on a bench and a rest. The shooting results are not indicated as usual in rings but in a covering circle which shows the diameter of a five-shot group. This kind of sport requests extremely high demands to the rifle – high stability, tight bedding of the barreled action and a barrel with excellent quality, also when getting hot. That‘s the reason why the name ANSCHÜTZ has an outstanding international reputation in this discipline.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. This Anschutz 54.30 has some light wear in the stocks with very little in the metal and comes with a variety of accessories for mounting either a scope or iron sights.
