Markings: The left side of the top barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH / MADE IN JAPAN/MIROKU” and the left side of the monobloc is marked “INVECTOR / PLUS / 28?“, “44” and “01780”. There are a series of inspection marks between the locking lugs (please see photos.) The right side of the upper barrel is marked “CITORI SPECIAL STEEL 12 GA – 2 3/4?”. The inside of the forend iron is marked “01780” and the inside of the forend has “BA 01780” pressed into the wood. Both sides of the receiver are marked with the Browning BuckMark and “XS Skeet” in gold. The top tang is marked “01780ZM131” and the underside of the trigger guard also has the BuckMark in gold. The receiver has scroll engraving on the sides and botttom with gold motif.
Barrel Length: 28” Ported, Vent Rib
Choke: Both Barrels are threaded for Browning Invector Plus Chokes. Currently, Modified over Full is installed. Improved Cylinder is also included.
Sights / Optics: A Hi-Viz front sight is mounted to the front of the rib with a green fiber optic installed, there is a small white mid-bead. Two additional green (three total), three red and two white beads are also included with the tool for changing them. The top of the rib is finely checkered for glare reduction.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are checkered walnut with a beavertail forend, pistol grip with a palm swell on the right side, straight comb and a black solid rubber Browning buttpad. The stocks have no notable wear or damage, only minor handling marks. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The dropt at comb is approximately 1 3/4″, drop at heel 1 5/8″. The cast is about neutral. The LOP is 14 3/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The trigger has approximately 1/4″ adjustment travel available in each direction (front and rear).
Type of Finish: The barrels are blue, the receiver and trigger guard are silver nitride with gold accents.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The barrels lock to the receiver with no play. The ejectors throw shells energetically. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes with a black cardboard Browning box with serial matching label, an assortment of factory paperwork including manual, chamber locks, a Browning accessory box with replacement triggers, replacement sight inserts with storage case, choke wrench, and the additional choke. The box has scattered storage wear with some fraying at edges and corners and one tear in the lid, in about Very Good condition. The accessories are in Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: This Browning XS Skeet is no longer offered by the factory, though there are still some XS series guns offered on a limited basis. This is a Skeet gun from the ground up, and needs to find a home with an active Skeet shooter looking for a 12 gauge. If that’s you, then this is a great looking gun that should perform every bit as well as it looks. With its ventilated top rib, ventilated side ribs between the barrels, porting, removable chokes and interchangeable trigger adjustable for length of pull this over/under is waiting for you to return it to the Skeet fields where it belongs. We don’t like to use the term “unfired” but based on the condition of the browning sticker still on the barrel, slightly overlapping some of the porting, this gun hasn’t been fired since it left the factory. In its original box and with apparently everything it had brand-new, this is a great “used” option for the lucky winner. Please see our photos and good luck!
