Markings: The top tang is marked “E40750B”. The water table is marked with three Italian proofs. Each raised wing on the sides of the receiver is marked “P. Beretta”. The bottom of the receiver is marked “GARDONE VT / ITALY”. The trigger plate is marked “PATENTED / Mod. 687 EELL” and is signed “Bottega C. Giovanelli”. The receiver has extensive scroll and floral engraving with fowl scenes on the lockplates and on the bottom. The top of the forend iron is marked “40750”. The exterior of the trigger guard, forend iron and the forend latch have scroll and floral engraving matching the receiver. The left of the top barrel forward of the chamber is marked “P. Beretta – Gardone V.T. – ITALY -” with “PB” in oval, “CAM. 76 18.3” and an Italian proof, the left of the chamber is marked “12 GA. 3″ – 26″”. The left of the bottom barrel is marked “-EXCELSIOR – HIGH STRENGTH ALLOYED STEEL – / KG1 340 18.3” and with an Italian proof. The bottom of the bottom barrel is marked “BBMY”. The bottom of the monoblock is marked “E 40750 B”, with three Italian proofs and “AS” in box date code. The right of the top barrel’s chamber is marked “BERETTA USA CORP. ACKK, MD. / MADE IN ITALY”.

Choke: The barrels are threaded for Mobil chokes with Skeet over Skeet installed. Also included are Full, Improved Modified, Modified, and Improved Cylinder.
Sights / Optics: There is a white bead in a base at the front of the rib and a small white mid-bead. The top of the rib is finely checkered for glare reduction.
Weight: 7 lb., 7.5 oz.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered select walnut with a pistol grip, straight comb gold-colored intial plate inlaid to the belly and solid brown rubber Decelerator buttpad. The stocks have no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14 3/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad, 13 5/4″ to the back of the wood. Drop at comb measures approximately 1 1/2″, drop at heel 2 1/4″. The cast is about neutral. The pad has no notable wear or damage. Overall, the stocks are in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion in the bores.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains approximately 98% of its metal finish. There is minor operational wear, concealed while assembled. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors. The action locks up tight with no play. The safety does not set automatically but functions properly when set manually. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes with the additional chokes in Beretta storage tubes, serial-matching label on a cut-off box-end and an assortment of factory paperwork including manual.
Our Assessment: This Beretta 687 EELL in 12 gauge is a great example of quality Beretta shotguns as well as being a beautiful work of art. From the solid action to Bottega Giovanelli’s beautifully engraved scenes on the receiver, this is a shotgun that will turn some heads at the range with performance to match its looks. The shotgun has 26″ vent-rib barrels and comes with a variety of chokes which will make it suitable for both skeet and hunting.
