The forend is large and rounded, and has a black nosecap with a white spacer. There is a sling swivel stud mounted on the bottom of a barrel band in front of the forend, and another in the belly of the stock near the toe. There are a few dings in the left side of the buttstock and a few drag lines and tiny dings in the right side. There is a small ding and a few light handling marks in the forend. The pad is still soft on its edges and shows very light wear at the edges of the heel and toe, with slight disfigurement of the mounting holes. The recoil pad is in about Fine condition. Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99+% of its metal finish. There are a few light handling marks scattered over the surfaces, with a tiny ding in the slide. The scope mount screws are sharp and the markings are crisp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. It has a cross-bolt safety at the back of the trigger guard. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with a single four round blued steel magazine, marked on the right side with “30-06” in a box. The magazine shows minimal wear and is in Excellent condition. Also included is a two piece leather target style sling marked with a “HUNTER” logo mounted with quick detachable swivels. The sling has two two-pronged brass hooks for adjusting overall length and two leather sliders. The leather is soft and flexible, with no cracks, but there is Verdigris growing around the hooks, which should clean up with a little alcohol. The sling is in about Fine condition.

Our Assessment: This is a Remington Model 760 Gamemaster pump-action rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. In addition to its iron sights, there is a Bushnell Scopechief IV 3-9X variable scope mounted to the receiver with a one-piece Weaver mount and rings. This rifle is in about Excellent condition with 99+% of its original finish remaining. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion, and has a ME of 0.0. The .30-06 Springfield cartridge is a great all-around cartridge that can be used for everything from varmints up to the largest North American game animals. With its short 22” barrel and pump action, this rifle should be great for deer hunting in the heavy woods and should excel against large, running pigs, where a fast shooting rifle is sometimes necessary to avoid getting gored. We expect the collectors and shooters to be bidding against each other on this one.
