Our Assessment: This model 27 is a target revolver disguised as a duty gun which would also serve well as a hunting revolver for game which can be taken with a .357 Magnum. With its 5″ barrel and adjustable sights, this revolver is a nice balance of size and precision, small enough to be carried comfortably but with enough sight radius to make shots that would be more difficult with a snub-nosed revolver. The gun is in Excellent condition with about 97% of its finish remaining and light operational wear. The grips have been replaced with a later style, but look fantastic on the gun. Overall, this is just a fine example of Smith & Wesson’s quality craftsmanship and will make a great addition to any collection. Please see our photos and good luck!
