Markings: The left side of the upper barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. / MADE IN JAPAN/MIROKU”. The right of the top barrel is marked “INVECTOR PLUS CITORI SPECIAL STEEL 20GA-2 3/4″”. The left of the monoblock is marked “INVECTOR / PLUS / 24″” and “22593” on the bottom-left. The bottom of the monoblock is marked with proof marks. The inside of the forend is marked “A22593″and the top of the forend iron is marked “22593”. The top tang is marked “22593NN131”, the bottom of the receiver is marked “BROWNING / Citori”. The trigger guard has a Buck Mark and the receiver has Grade I engraving.

Barrel Length: 24”, Vent-Rib

Choke: The barrels are threaded for Invector Plus chokes with Modified over Improved Cylinder installed. A Full choke is also included.

Sights / Optics: This shotgun is mounted with a silver colored bead at the front of the ventilated rib. The top of the rib is finely checkered to reduce glare.

Weight: 5 lbs., 15.8 oz.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with schnabel-tip forend, straight grip, straight comb and textured black plastic Browning buttplate. The forend has a spot of light marring at the top-rear corner on the left side and the buttstock has a couple of drag-lines on the left just behind the wrist checkering. Otherwise, there are only light hanlding marks. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 3/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. Drop at the comb is approximately 1 1/2″, drop at heel is 2 1/4″. The cast is about neutral. The plate has no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks, in about Excellent condition. The stocks rate in about Fine-Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion in the bores.

Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly including the ejectors. The barrels lock up with no play to the receiver. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun comes in a brown hard-sided Browning carry case with brown plush interior, the additional Full choke with Invector Plus storage tube, keys for the case and a pair of additional bolsters and screws used to secure the padded blocks which hold the components in place. The case has a tear in the outer coating on the front between the handle and the right latch and a few other scattered minor marks, in about Fine condition.

Our Assessment: Browning Citori shotguns are extremely dependable and make for great investments. This example is an Upland Special, a variant made specifically for upland bird hunting. It has a short, 24″ barrel with an English stock making for a fast-handling gun that will come up quickly on small, fast-moving birds. This example was produced in 1999 and is chambered for 20 gauge 2 3/4″ shells. The gun is in Excellent condition showing little sign of use with only a few minor marks in the wood. It comes in a nice Browning carry case with Modified over Improved Cylinder Invector Plus chokes installed and an additional Full choke included. This will make for a great gun for your next quail hunt, and with its ability to accept Invector Plus chokes, it can also be choked to your liking, making for a great gun for anyone who prefers English stocks and a shorter, faster-handling gun.
