Action Type: Single and Double Action Swing Out Cylinder Revolver

Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “Mountain Lite”, the right is marked “.357 S&W MAGNUM”. The left of the frame has a S&W monogram logo and the right is marked “SPFLD, MA / S&W U.S.A.”. The sideplate has a S&W scandium atom logo and “AirLite / Sc”. The crane cut is marked with the serial and model numbers, the butt is marked with the serial number.

Barrel Length: 3 1/8”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade with a red-orange insert pinned to a rise in the serrated barrel rib. The rear sight is a “V”-notch leaf in a standard micrometer click adjustable base screwed to the topstrap.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are a one-piece pebble-textured finger groove rubber which leaves the butt and backstrap exposed and has S&W logos at the top on each side. The heel of the backstrap has a lanyard loop built in. The grips have some light scuffing in the smooth portions. There are no rips or tears. Overall, the grips are in about Very Good-Fine condition.

Type of Finish: Alloy frame and barrel shroud, gray titanium cylinder.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.

Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is a very faint turn-line on the cylinder but it does not go through the finish. There are a few scattered minor handling marks.The trigger and hammer have nice color-case which shows only light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly single and double action. The double action trigger is smooth and the single action crisp. The cylinder lockup has very little play side-to-side with no play front-to-rear. We did not fire this gun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes in an alminum combination lock case with foam interior which has the S&W logo on the lid showing light wear in about Fine condition. Inside is an assorment of factory paperwork including manual and fired case envelope, cable lock, and keys for the internal locking system.

Our Assessment: This is an interesting, very light (19 oz unloaded) 7 shot revolver in .357 Magnum. It comes with a nice combination lock aluminum case, holding just about everything it would have come with new. It is light enough for backpacking, hiking or any field use where weight is a consideration and seven rounds of .357 Magnum promises to make it a great defensive revolver. It is in Excellent condition and ready to hit the range, enter your carry rotation or go in the nightstand. Please see our photos and good luck!
