Our Assessment: This is a Ruger New Model Blackhawk Bisley. Originally chambered in .45 Colt, it has since been re-barreled and re-cylindered to fire the .500 JRH cartridge. .500 JRH was developed by Jack R. Huntington of JRH Advanced Gunsmithing as a shorter version of the .500 S&W cartridge which was short enough to be used in the frame of the Freedom Arms model 83 and the Ruger Blackhawk. This piece appears to have been customized by JHR themselves, though we have not been able to confirm this. The cartridge is similar in performance to .500 Linebaugh, though not interchangable, and factory ammunition is made by Buffalo Bore. This revolver can be used to hunt just about any animal you’d like to hunt with a handgun and can also be used to put a big f***ing smile on your face while you shoot your big f***ing revolver. Please see our photos and good luck!
