Our Assessment: The Ruger Precision Rifle was developed to put the same quality and precision of much more expensive rifles into the reach of beginners who may not want to take out a second mortgage to build a long-range precision rifle, while still making the rifle modular for those who want to upgrade parts. The rifle can use most AR-15 handguards and grips, an after-market for barrels quickly sprang up and the RPR has become one of the most popular precision rifles on the market. This example looks to have been purchased, handled some, maybe had a monopod installed and removed, but likely was handled more than shot. It is chambered in .243 Winchester, one of the most popular cartridges for the Production division of Precision Rifle Series and a cartridge which is commerically available in different loadings at reasonable prices. Between the quality of the rifle from the factory and the options for customization, this is a great rifle if you’re looking to get into Precision Rifle matches. Please see our photos and good luck!
