Our Assessment: The SA-22 is one of the first autoloading rimfire rifles ever made, and one the most desirable. One of John M. Browning’s final designs, his genius shines through in every feature. The slim, forged steel receiver and slender barrel takes down into two compact units without tools. FN made the Semi-Auto .22 rifles under Browning’s patent from 1956 until 1974 with a brief hiatus before Miroku began manufacturing them in 1976 in Japan. This example is a sharp example of a late produced Belgian rifle. The gun is in Excellent condition showing little sign of use. This would make a fantastic little shooter or a fine addition to a Browning or rimfire rifle collection. This is a great example of one of the coolest .22s ever made. Please see our photos and good luck!
