Our Assessment: This is a vintage post-war Winchester Model 42 standard grade .410 bore pump action shotgun with round barrel from 1952 which has been fit with checkered select walnut stocks. The Model 42 was the first pump shotgun specifically designed for the .410 chambering and resembles its larger cousin the Model 12. It is in Fine condition with a few light marks, light handling wear, and wear spots on the barrel and magazine tube from the slide and use. This good looking shotgun is sure to find a spot in a Winchester collection given its condition with original finish on the metal and the upgraded stocks. While it doesn’t have a vent rib or fancy engraving, it is nonetheless a fine shotgun from the heyday of Winchester manufacturing. Please see our photos and good luck!
