The right of the trigger guard is marked “3”, the left is marked “VP” in triangle and “5”. The firing pin retainer is marked “1”. The top of the chamber is marked “-COLT 45 AUTO-“. The left of the slide has banners reading “”THE RIGHT TO KEEP / AND BEAR ARMS.””, “GEORGE WASHINGTON” under his engraved portrait, “FOUNDING FATHERS / SECOND AMENDMENT TRIBUTE” over an engraved Constitution and quill pen, and “THOMAS JEFFERSON” under his engraved portrait and behind the slide serrations with “76” surrounded by stars. The top of the slide in front of the rear sight is marked “”AMERICA REMEMBERS” / AHL, INC. ASHLAND, VA”. The bottom of the slide at the front is marked “332 of 500” on banner and “A&A ENGRAVING Inc. / Rapid City, S.D.”. The right of the slide has the same “76” surrounded by stars at the rear, banners reading “BENJAMIN FRANKLIN” under his engraved portrait, “JAMES MADISON” under his engraved portrait, and “”THE RIGHT TO KEEP / AND BEAR ARMS”” with engravings of the Liberty Bell and the Constitution and quill pen as well as a Betsy Ross flag.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade fixed to the slide and the rear sight is a square notch dovetailed into the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered wood with smooth diamonds around the grip screws and gold Colt medallions. There is no notable wear or damage. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 99+% of its metal finish. There is no notable wear or damage and hardly anything in the way of handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: We did not test the action so as to preserve the finish. There is nothing to indicate that this pistol will not function properly should you choose to fire it. We did not fire this pistol.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in awood presentation case with transparent window on the lid, key for the lock on its front, red velvet interior with fitted depression for the pistol and an inlaid brass plaque marked “THE FOUNDING FATHERS / SECOND AMENDMENT TRIBUTE / ISSUED BY AMERICA REMEMBERS / AN EDITION OF 500”. The exterior of the case has a few scattered light scuffs and the interior shows very light wear from its contents, in about Fine condition.
Our Assessment: This pistol is a beautiful Colt Government Model 1911A1 pistol with gold finished slide, sights, controls and screws with a gorgeously engraved slide celebrating the 2nd Amendment and our Founding Fathers. Issued in 2011 as the 322nd of 500 such pistols made, this pistol will be the envy of any American who doesn’t already have one.
