Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 95% of its metal finish. There is rubbing on the recoil spring plug’s outer rim with light compression on the checkers. The slide has mild operational marks at the dust cover. The pistol has a few tiny scuffs, the lower left of the grip frame at the mainspring housing pin has a small scratch. The rear sight has a few rubbed portions that thinned the matted finish. The leading edges of the slide have very faint thinning. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The wide, serrated and adjustable trigger breaks around 3lbs 8oz. The slide has mild play to the frame, the mechanics are crisp and the barrel is fit with a collet bushing for added snug fit. The hammer cocks back with a strong mainspring. We have not fired this handgun.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The pistol comes with two blue magazines, showing light wear, in Fine to Excellent condition.

Our Assessment: This is a very nice looking Colt Gold Gup National Match, made in about 1984, with about 95% of its blue finish, with sharp lines, strong bore and superb mechanics. These pistols are easily competition ready and will either make for a great addition to a collector’s safe or ROAR on the pistol line, with its powerful .45 ACP chambering. The pistol is in about Excellent condition with minimal use. Although quite a few of these were made, we don’t see very many come through our shop – either the old bullseye shooters are keeping them for posterity, or the collectors are hording them. Instead of spending thousands of dollars on a customized 1911, you can experience the same results with this factory honed item. Please see our pictures and good luck.
