Our Assessment: The Browning B-92 is a lever-action rifle modeled after the classic Winchester Model 1892, known for its smooth action, compact design, and reliability. This example, made in 1982 and chambered in .357 Magnum, is part of the early production run of this model, which was manufactured by Miroku in Japan from 1978 to 1987. The B-92 was introduced as a modern, high-quality reproduction of the Winchester 1892, featuring superior fit and finish while maintaining the traditional styling and functionality of the original design.

This rifle features a 20-inch round-profile barrel, which provides an excellent balance of maneuverability and accuracy, making it a great choice for hunting, sport shooting, or cowboy action shooting. The Grade I walnut furniture offers a classic appearance with a rich, traditional finish, while the blued metal buttplate keeps true to the styling of original 19th-century lever guns. Chambered in .357 Magnum, the B-92 is capable of firing both .357 Magnum and .38 Special, offering versatility for different shooting needs. With its solid steel receiver, robust construction, and smooth lever action, the Browning B-92 is a well-crafted rifle that blends classic Old West aesthetics with modern precision manufacturing, making it a desirable firearm for both collectors and shooters alike.
